SUMMARY
The Lead Night Auditor is responsible for leading the overnight operations of the Hotel, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, and all aspects of guest services. The Lead Night Auditor will audit and verify all revenue and settlements daily and restart or reset systems as part of the End of Day processes. At the same time, this position will continue the arrival experience by ensuring clear communication with guests, obtaining all necessary information, and providing the guest a room that meets their expectations. The Lead NightAuditor will also process guest departures providing gracious service while closing out accounts and again ensuring guest satisfaction. The Lead Night Auditor will assist the Hotel Accounting Manager in: maintaining up-to-date procedural and training documents, training Night Auditors, documenting policy deviations, posting best practices, analyzing the efficiency of audit tasks, and providing feedback on process improvements. Additionally, the Lead Night Auditor will conduct weekly examinations of house accounts. Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality, and social demeanor that contributes to a hospitable environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Verify revenue from all sources is accurately balanced, solve errors and follow up on any discrepancies.
2. Ensure all revenue documentation is in compliance with established policies and procedures.
3. Reconcile daily receipts from all profit centers, including but not limited to: hotel operations, banquets, and restaurants.
4. Perform end of day procedures.
5. Produce daily reports for departments.
6. Greet guests warmly and provide guests with appropriate room assignments, room keys, and directions to the rooms.
7. Resolve guest issues and ensure complete guest satisfaction.
8. Document all guest requests, complaints and / or issues.
9. Facilitate guest departures providing accurate statements and ensuring guest satisfaction and collecting all payments due.
10. Learn and adhere to all fire and emergency procedures (including procedures for handling of the fire panel and guest or employee incidents) to ensure guest safety.
11. Conduct routine safety tours of the property (inside/outside). Write and submit maintenance work orders as needed.
12. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
13. Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with all departments with the aim of achieving high levels of cooperation and service excellence.
14. Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.
15. Any other reasonable request made my management/supervision.
16. Act as Person in Charge (PIC).
17. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of nightly reporting and audit packs.
18. Train Night Auditors and assist in tracking their professional development.
19. In cooperation with Hotel Accounting Manager, maintain checklists, process, & procedure documents, best practices, and other materials pertinent to the audit staff.
20. Analyze efficiency of audit tasks and provide feedback on process improvements.
21. Examine on a weekly basis the balances of monthly accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
22. Document deviations from company policies.

WORK CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors with infrequent work performed outdoors in providing guest assistance. Pace of business varies from slow and quiet to fast and hectic.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English is required. Must be able to provide, receive, and comprehend verbal and written instructions and information. Must be friendly, reliable, and assertive with the ability to maintain poise under pressure. Must be able to work independently or with others. Proper social demeanor, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and passion for serving others is essential.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
