Digital Operator (38428)

Operates digital printing and bindery equipment, verifying that quality and schedule expectations are met.
Read and understand job tickets in order to ensure conformance between specifications and printed output. Impose, proof, print and package jobs according to ticket instructions.
Verify the type and amount of stock matches paper specified on production ticket prior to printing.
When stock specified on production ticket is inventoried stock, allocates the amount of stock used for project in PSI.
Logs into PSI to ensure that all time is properly recorded into job.
Ensure that digital presses are maintained properly, performing regular maintenance
Ensure that iGen printed output is of the highest color fidelity and that variance between proofs and print runs is at a minimum.
Maintain image quality during print runs. Detect, troubleshoot and fix any image quality issues as they arise.
Maintain the iGen according to Xerox guidelines and as necessary to preserve image quality.
Perform limited bindery functions on digital and other jobs. May include cutting, folding, laminating, perfect binding or other finishing methods.
Maintain inventory of iGen consumables and house stocks.
Assist with production in the offset prepress including plating, proofing or other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Relevant equipment experience and training.
Knowledge using small bindery finishing equipment.
Knowledge of general iGen maintenance procedures.
Ability to develop new techniques for handling work.
Ability to anticipate production issues and create appropriate solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective listening.
Demonstration of positive safety attitude.
Must be able to work safely, communicate well, and produce good quality work at an efficient pace.
Manages time well and sets priorities for tasks.

Must have good color perception.
Possess a high expectation for quality and ability to operate with minimal waste.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. maximum and the ability to stand 8 hours.
Must be able to perform physical activities that require the use of arms and legs, moving body.
Must be able to push & pull skids of product using pallet jack frequently throughout shift.
Must be able to reach above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units.
Frequent bending, lifting, walking.
Ability to visually inspect all work for defects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Minimum 1 year digital press operating experience preferred.
Willingness to learn and be trained on any new equipment and technology.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
