JOB TITLE:
Continuous Improvement Co-op DEPARTMENT:
Continuous Improvement JOB SUMMARY Identifies and oversees aspects of projects that directly improve quality and process optimization along with tracking operational deficiencies.
Responsible for coordination and completion of projects by performing a variety of tasks that include setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress and summarizing results.
Applies Lean methods to evaluate process improvement opportunities, define process metrics and develop improvement plans.
Implements the company's processes to meet total quality management standards and other reliability tests.
Conducts monthly reviews of ongoing projects to ensure timely execution.
Coordinates with other departments to identify and prioritize process improvements to achieve operational excellence.
This position is located at CooperVision's Distribution Center in West Henrietta.
The site is regulated by the FDA and contains high-speed packaging automation, as well as automated and manual order picking, packing, and shipping operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist with project management tasks Identify project scope Create and execute work plans including charters/timelines Manage day-to-day operations Revise plans to meet changing needs Strive to minimize exposure to risk Conduct cost/benefit analysis Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately Participate on launch of new products and/or equipment, including FAT and validation activities Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for implementing change Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to facilitate process improvement Identify and eliminate wast Problem solve using Root Cause Analysis Develop statistically valid quality measurements Assist in the development, modification, and implementation of operational procedures and guidelines such as Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions Assist with Non-Conformance Reports:
investigation, root cause, correction, prevention Conduct time and motion studies, analyze and report results Perform data analysis and create meaningful graphs using MS Excel Create and deliver MS PowerPoint presentations Produce MS Word reports and other documents Create Process Flow Charts and Value Stream Maps in Visio Interaction with, and occasional travel to, sister sites in Scottsville and Victor Communicate and follow up with customers, managers, and team members to effectively identify needs SolidWorks experience a plus Minitab experience a plus Simio experience a plus Perform other duties as required General Requirements:

Immediately informs Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager of safety, sanitation, and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

Microsoft office suite, ability to utilize, develop and interpret detailed Excel spreadsheets.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Normal Office environment EXPERIENCE Customer Service, Distribution and/or Supply Chain experience a plus.
Previous Co-Op completion a plus.
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED Required.
Enrollment in college degree program aligned to an Engineering field preferred.
